Echo

Getting started

What is Echo?

Echo is a social music app for iPhone. You listen on your Deck, save records to your Crate, send tracks to friends, discover new music with reasons attached and make tracks together in Sessions.

How do I get the app?

Echo is launching on the App Store soon. Join the waitlist on our Download page and we’ll email you as soon as it’s available.

Which devices are supported?

Echo is launching on iPhone first. We’ll share news about other platforms with people on the waitlist.

Is Echo free?

Yes. Echo Free gives you the full social experience. Echo Premium adds ad-free listening, lossless audio, an offline Crate and unlimited Sessions.

Listening

Where does music play?

Music plays in the Listen tab of the app, and on your Lock Screen while it’s playing. Your Home feed never autoplays. Tap Add to Listen on any track to queue it on your Deck.

What’s the Crate?

Your Crate is your personal record collection inside Echo. Flip through it, pull a record out and drop it on the Deck.

What’s Sent to You?

When a friend sends you a track, it arrives in Sent to You with their note. Play it, save it to your Crate or send one back.

What does Echo (the button) do?

Echo is how you like something on Echo. Echoing a post lets the person know you loved it and helps tune your Weekly Picks.

Discover

What are Weekly Picks?

A personal set of tracks that refreshes every week, based on what you’ve been spinning and what your friends love. Every pick shows why it was chosen.

What is Rising?

Rising highlights new and emerging artists on Echo before they break through.

How do concerts near you work?

Artists and organisers list events, and the Echo team reviews them. Approved events show up in Discover based on your city, along with which friends are into the artists playing.

Sessions

How does a Session work?

The owner posts a seed, like a beat, a loop or a voice memo. Other people add layers by recording in the app or uploading a file. The owner reviews every layer and picks which ones go into the main mix.

Who gets credited?

Everyone whose layer makes the final mix is credited automatically when the Session is released.

Can I release a Session?

Yes. The owner can release the final mix to the feed or into people’s Crates. Sessions follow the same content rules as other uploads.

For artists

How do I release music on Echo?

Create a free Echo for Artists account, complete your profile and upload a release with audio, cover art and credits. The Echo team reviews it before it goes live.

What file formats are supported?

Audio: MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC or FLAC up to 50 MB. Cover art: square JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB. We recommend at least 3000 × 3000 pixels for cover art.

Why wasn’t my release approved?

Open Music in your dashboard to see the reviewer’s note. Common reasons are audio quality problems, unclear rights to samples, incorrect details or explicit content that isn’t marked. Fix it and choose Fix & Resubmit.

Can I schedule a release?

Yes. Set a release date when you upload. Once approved, the track goes live on that date.

How do I get verified?

Add a photo, a bio and at least one link to your profile, then choose Request Verification. We may contact you to confirm your identity.

How do I remove a release?

Open Music in your dashboard and choose Remove. Removed releases disappear from Echo straight away.

For organisers

How do I list an event?

Sign up as an event organiser, then open Events in your dashboard and choose New Event. Add the poster, date and time, venue, lineup, price, age limit and ticket link.

How do I tag artists?

In the Lineup field, search for the artist’s name and pick them from the list. Artists who aren’t on Echo can be added by name.

How do I cancel an event?

Open the event in your dashboard and choose Cancel Event. Fans will see it marked as cancelled.

Account & privacy

I forgot my password.

On the log in page, enter your email and choose Forgot your password. We’ll email you a reset link.

How do I change my artist or organiser name?

Open Profile in your dashboard, change your name and choose Save Profile.

How do I delete my account?

Contact us from the Contact page with the email on your account and we’ll delete your account and data.

What data does Echo keep?

Read our Privacy Policy for the full details of what we collect, why and how long we keep it.

Safety & reporting

How do I report something?
