Terms of Use
These terms apply when you use the Echo app, this website and Echo for Artists.
Last updated 2 October 2026
1. Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using Echo, you agree to these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy and our Community Guidelines. If you upload music or list events, the Artist & Organiser Agreement also applies. If you don’t agree, don’t use Echo.
2. Who can use Echo
You must be at least 13 years old to use Echo. If you’re under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian. You’re responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens on your account.
3. Using Echo
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Echo for your own non-commercial enjoyment. You must not:
- copy, download, rip or redistribute music from Echo, except where a feature lets you;
- reverse engineer, scrape or interfere with the app, website or our systems;
- create accounts by automated means or impersonate another person or artist;
- upload content you don’t have the rights to, or that breaks our Community Guidelines;
- use Echo for anything unlawful.
4. Your content
You own the content you post on Echo, including Session layers, notes and profile details. You give Echo a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display and stream that content so we can run and promote Echo. This licence ends when you delete the content, except where others have already used it in a Session you contributed to, or where we need to keep it for legal reasons.
5. Sessions
When you add a layer to someone else’s Session, you agree the Session owner can include it in the final mix and release it on Echo, with you credited as a contributor. Don’t add layers that contain material you don’t have the rights to.
6. Paid plans
Echo Premium is a subscription that renews automatically until you cancel. Prices are shown before you buy, include GST, and may change with notice. You can cancel at any time and keep Premium until the end of your current billing period. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
7. Reviews and removal
The Echo team reviews uploads and event listings and may decline, remove or restrict any content or account that breaks these terms or our guidelines, or where we’re required to by law. We’ll tell you why where we reasonably can.
8. Third-party links and tickets
Event listings may link to third-party ticket sellers. Tickets are sold by the organiser or ticket seller, not Echo, and their terms apply.
9. Changes and availability
We’re always improving Echo and may add, change or remove features. We’ll give notice of significant changes to these terms. Echo is provided as is and we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Echo isn’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can’t be excluded.
11. Ending your account
You can stop using Echo and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms.
